Getting the best offer
How to get the highest offer for your items
Six things to do before you submit your items.
Fill the box
As a business our costs are essentially the same for any boxes that we purchase. The fuller the box, the more of the value reaches you.
1
Send everything together
One parcel, one offer. Anything left in the drawer earns you nothing.
2
Include the ordinary items
Odd coins, badges, jewellery. Even the smallest things add up.
3
Keep sets complete
A full set is worth more than the same pieces split up.
4
Include any paperwork
Boxes, receipts and certificates raise what we can pay.
5
Photograph everything
The whole lot first, then close-ups of the stand-out pieces.
Photographs
- Photograph the whole lot together.
- Take close-ups of the stand-out pieces.
- Use daylight and a plain background.
- Include hallmarks, maker’s marks and serial numbers.
- Show any damage.
Your description
- If known, include details of where the items were acquired.
- Any makers, brands or dates you know.
- Anything still boxed, sealed or unused.
- Any faults, repairs or missing parts.
- Anything you would like us to look at closely.
Before you send
- One submission covers one parcel. Start a second submission for a second box.
- Check the list of items we don't usually buy.
- Pack the parcel well.
